Antonia Hikel-Demmler

Soprano

... was born in Berlin. She gained her first singing experience at the age of five in the Gropiuslerchen choir in Berlin under the direction of Bernhard Jahn. Here she received early vocal training and her love of singing was supported and developed. During this time, she was able to take part in many concerts and studio recordings.

After graduating from high school, she first completed extensive pedagogical training and then began artistic studies at the Berlin University of the Arts in the class of Dr Barbara Hoos de Jokisch.

She is passionate about church music, especially the works of Johann Sebastian Bach and Camille Saint-Säens. However, works by G. Vivaldi, G. F. Händel and many more are also part of her extensive repertoire.

In addition to her intensive training as a soloist, she has developed her love of ensemble singing, which has enabled her to gain experience with various ensembles. In this context, she has worked with Prof. Kai-Uwe Jirka (Berlin University of the Arts), Marie-Louise Schneider (Marienkirche Berlin) and church music director Helmut Hoeft (Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche Berlin), among others.

In addition to her work as a singer, she also works as a vocal coach. Her vocal training work with several groups from the Staats- und Domchor Berlin takes up the majority of her work. She also coaches several other choirs and works with young adults towards a musical career.
